NOTE to ELLEN from Chelle Baxter’s Old High School FRIEND

I would love to help a high school friend, Chelle Baxter achieve a dream of her and her adoptive mother’s, to meet Ellen. Chelle is truely an inspiring person to me. She donates her talents to charities and has turned her experiences into helping others and relentlessly pursues her dreams. She lives in Texas and will be in Los Angeles on the 17th. Chelle has written many letters in hopes of attending the show then. Sadly her adoptive parents have passed on. Her father was an English teacher at our high school and she is know helping ‘teach’ others overcome trama. Chelle has also written a book she is working on publishing.

Her biological Mom has also written a note to request help in achieving her daughter’s dream.
The photo I attached is of my Mom (also adopted at a young age), me and my son Tyler.

Thank you for helping me accomplish this dream for an inspiring person in Memory of her adoptive Mother!
With Love and Gratitude,
Shelly Stock

NOTE to ELLEN from my biological Mom

I was so touched by this note my biological Mom shared with me tonite that she sent to The Ellen Show, I wanted to share it with all of you this Mother’s Day weekend:

“Dear Ellen,

I had my daughter when I was unwed and 17 at a maternity home in 1974. I was given no choice other than to relinquish her to adoption. In 1998, I was reunited with my daughter, ‘Chelle (short for Michelle). We have shared a great relationship but I was not “Mama”. Her “Mama” was a lovely lady named Betsy and in Betsy’s last years (she died in 2008), she and ‘Chelle would watch your show together. ‘Chelle would tell me how her Mama would laugh and they would have such a good time watching your show. They could forget the stress and decline of Betsy’s health due to her illnesses (Type I Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease). Ellen, ‘Chelle’s biggest dream is to meet you. She has tried to get tickets for your show next week as she will be in Los Angeles. But she has not had any luck. I am asking you to please give this gift of your time to my daughter. Finding my daughter was my dream come true. Now, I would like to make her dream come true!   Best regards,   Suzanna”

*I have been very blessed with Mama & my mother-in-law who both are up in Heaven now & my bio Mom that I’m so thankful is still here on this Earth & hope for many more years!  Happy Mother’s Day!  Remembering my grandmothers & aunts, too.

Letters to ELLEN from Chelle series: LETTER 41 (Monday, May 7, 2012)

Dear Ellen,

How was your day?  I had hectic, but good day today.  Productive day with new job & my doggy (Prescott) got a haircut today.  He’d gotten alot of stickers (or what we call here in TX, “burrs”) so hoping he won’t get them anymore for good while after getting his hair cut short.  I’m going to miss Prescott while I’m in L.A. ; he’ll be staying at Snoopy’s (they provide dog boarding, haircuts, etc)  I adopted Prescott from Second Chance SPCA on 3/30/08, only 13 days after my (adoptive) father died & then I lost six family members within those following six months whlie I had two broken arms (at same time) beginning with my father’s death & ending with my (adoptive) mother’s death.  I was 13 days old when my parents adopted me & Mama nicknamed me “Chelle” (said like Shell) the day they adopted me & everyone has called me “Chelle” ever since!  (Sidenote: I love seaShells..and coffee, too)

Ellen, may I please meet you May 17th (2012)?   Mama & I watched The Ellen Show together all the time (including in her hospital room & her nursing home room); my parents & I also watched your older sitcom frequently, too.  I can never thank you enough for helping create so many great memories for my parents & me; we laughed constantly watching your sitcom & talk show.  My biggest Bucket List wish is to meet you, even if for only a minute.

Love & Peace,

Chelle (said like Shell)

Letters to ELLEN from Chelle series: LETTER 40 (SuperMoon weekend)

Dear Ellen,

How was your Cinco de Mayo yesterday?  Hope today was good for you, too!,

So, today one of our local news anchors was arrested early this morning for DWI & another local news channel made sure we knew all about it.  She had 3 glasses of wine, was pulled over by a state trooper on tollway, refused breathalyzer test, and took the mandatory blood test.  I just wrote this news anchor the other day as she’d posted on Facebook how her parents are moving here in August.  Hope she’s doing better now and all will be okay.

I am crocheting (making) 300 plus cell phone holders & asking people to email Crochet4Cause@aol.com a personal story about someone who has died while texting & driving (or using cell phone).  I will be sending the cell phone holders with one of these personal stories enclosed in each of them to your show for your audience members.  I want to help spread the message that a text message (or) phone call can wait, but your life can NOT!  (learn more about this & other causes I’m helping 16 causes in 16 months thru Crochet4Cause campaign @ www.crochet4cause.org)

I hosted my online talk show, “Coffee Talk with Chelle” (www.coffeetalkwithchelle.com) tonite..  I interviewed a Celebrity Networking Expert, Chris Lucas during the first hour and shared Avengers & “SuperMoon” reviews during the second & last hour of my talk show.  Maybe I will figure out what to write you soon as this is my 40th letter to you now in 40 days.  I admit it’s become therapeutic writing you a letter at the end of each day.  Reflecting upon my day’s events and sharing them with you feels like I’m writing a journal entry & showing it to a friend; you know what I mean?

Got long day tomorrow, so after my husband & I finish our (Friends with Words) game, I”m going to bed.  Ellen, may I please meet you on May 17th when I’m in L.A.?

Love & Peace,

Chelle (said like Shell)

Letters to ELLEN from Chelle series: LETTER 39 (Happy Cinco de Mayo & Free Comic Book Day)

Dear Ellen,

Happy Cinco de Mayo & Free Comic Book Day today!

My husband & I went to the comic book store & loaded up on free comic books (after clerk told us we could have one of each comic book issue) & will be mailing all of the kid comic books along with a Little Caesars gift card to my bio. brother & his family (he & his fiance have six children altogether; they’re alot like the Brady Bunch); It’s going to be a combination of Mother’s Day & Father’s Day gift set for them so they can enjoy pizza & checking out the comic books together as a family.

Altogether, my husband & I have 8 nephews, 7 nieces, & 3 great nephews!  Truly blessed, we are!

My husband & I had Chipotle for our Cinco de Mayo celebration lunch (yummy).  And then we rented & watched a few movies (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Limitless, & Contraband).

And tonite, we went outside & admited the “SuperMoon” – beautiful, although it didn’t look as bright as I thought it would; think some clouds were covering it or something.

My hubby (SuperDave), doggy (Prescott), & I are resting & watching tv right now.  May go to bed after SNL ends.  Eli Manning is doing a great job hosting by the way.   I can’t wait to see Will Ferrel on there next weekend!  And oh how I’d love to see you hosting SNL soon, too!  That’d be really cool!

Ellen, may I please meet you May 17th when I’m visiting Los Angeles briefly?  I appreciate you even taking the time to read my letters (or) listening to them by whoever is reading them to you?  (Hi Andy!  oh, hi Amy!  No, Jeanie? haha)

Love & Peace,

Chelle (said like Shell)

Letters to ELLEN from Chelle series: LETTER 38 (The Avengers)

Dear Ellen,

I keep finding myself waking to my mailbox every day to mail out a letter to you, but to check and see if any tickets for The Ellen Show came in mail each day, too.  It’s May 4th & I’m coming to Los Angeles really soon & hoping to make my biggest wish to meet you (on May 17th) come true?  (I wish for world peace, too.)

So, my husband (SuperDave) & I (“Wonder” Chelle) saw the Avengers tonite, but unfortunately, the couple next to us celebrated Cinco de Mayo (drinko-de-mayo) a day early & ruined the whole movie experience for us.(they were so obnoxiously rude)-no respect for our superheroes-the Avengers & the Rambler (you) & Agent Ellen (who has awesome dancing powers)-also you.  I think you really should try to hang out with Robert Downey Jr sometime!  That was so sweet of you to invite him to hang out at your & Portia’s casa.  And my husand & I agree with you; Robert Downey Jr should have to “star.”  (And I also think May 17th should be declared National Ellen Day.)  If I ever get to meet you, I’ve already nicknamed that “moment” of my lifetime to be called “ChEllen” as I already tell others I’m having “ChEllen” time whenever I’m watching The Ellen show, reading your book, etc as my name is Chelle & your name of course is Ellen.

Back to the Avengers, I can’t wait to see the movie already on DVD so I don’t hve to worry about any rude, drunk people around interrupting & I can really focus on everything.  (I did hear & see some of the movie, at least, & by the way, I’m adopted, but I did not kill 84 people like Thor’s brother did.)  Not all of us adoptees are evil in this world; I (always) try & hope to be a good person.

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day (freecomicbookday.com), so if you & Portia tag team it, y’all could get alot of free comic books, I bet!  Ellen, I keep having this dream of you & Portia playing board games vs my husband & me, but I always wake up before I discover which team wins (& still trying to figure out which game we’re playing, but I’m gonna guess a game with words since my hubby & I have been playing “Words with Friends” every night lately).

Ellen, may I please meet you May 17th, even if for a minute?  It would mean the WORLD to me!  And if possible, may my husband (David) & I attend the taping of The Ellen Show May 17th (this year 2012)?  We will sit on the floor (or) in bean bag chairs (or) stand-up, etc if all of your audience seats are already taken.  (Sidenote:  I did go thru proper protocl & requested two tickets for May 17th taping of your show thru your website quite awhile back, but haven’t gotten a reply yet, but don’t ever want to give up HOPE!)

Love & Peace,

Chelle

(said like shell); yes I love seashells & when people say, “See, Chelle!” pointing something out to me…

“Be Brave. Love LIFE!”

P.S.  Hear me read any of the letters I’ve written to Ellen thus far by going to coffeetalkwithchelle.com & clicking on link on right-hand side of main page (Letters to Ellen from Chelle)

I’m writing one letter each day (for 50 consecutive days) until I go visit L.A. in May.

Letter 24 to ELLEN DeGeneres from Chelle series: Earth Day weekend

Dear Ellen,

How was your day?  I loved the Earth Day episode of your show today!  I saw “Chimpanzee.”  I have always loved apes and Jane Goodall is one of my heroes!  And I’m adopted, just like “Oscar” (the main chimpanzee featured in the movie) was.

April 21st is your Guest, Artist Michael Franti’s birthday.  He is also an adoptee (like me).  I’ve met him & introduced him, Michael Franti & Spearhead on stage on Sept 30, 2010 at House of Blues in Dallas, which occurred only a couple of months after making a two-part wish on my birthday, which the first part was to meet Mr. Franti (which came true) & the second-part (I’m still hoping to make come true-maybe soon) is to meet YOU!  (Sidenote:  By the way, I saw Mr. Franti again in 2011 & danced with him & his band on stage at Winstar Casino in Oklahoma; hope to continue tradition of seeing Michael Franti & Spearhead concert at least once each year; his music is so uplifting.  I discovered him after my parents died when I first heard “Say Hey (I Love You” on the radio one morning while driving & noticed the lyrics included “Mama” & “Papa” – that’s what I called my parents; they adopted & raised me since I was 13 days old; they both died in 2008; may they rest in peace.)  Hearing “Say Hey” by Michael Franti & Spearhead was the first time after my parents had died that I finally felt the “joy of life” again; I found myself smiling, dancing, even laughing in the car!)

Ellen, may I please meet you in May when I visit Los Angeles for a few days in May?  I requested two tickets for my husband & me for the May 17th taping of The Ellen Show.  I realize today is April 20th & I haven’t gotten a call or email yet from your show saying I have gotten tickets for May 17th, but I’m not giving up hope.  This is the closest chance I have ever had as I’m finally getting to Los Angeles, and unsure if I will ever make it there again or not.  So, I’m trying my best to live in the here & now & hopefully make this wish come true of finally meeting you!  I love your outlook on life, Ellen!  Live.  Love. Laugh. Dance!  And do it all over again!  And my life motto is that I never want to be limited, but always limitless on what I can achieve!  So, again, I ask, “May I please meet you, Ellen on May 17th of this year (2012)?;  less than 30 away, I will be in L.A.!

Love & Peace,

Chelle  (said like shell)

P.S. “Be Brave. Love LIFE!”

Letter 23 to ELLEN DeGeneres from Chelle series: Hoping

Dear Ellen,

I always thought you were high-five’ing that producer guy, so I’m glad today is High-Five Day and you showed the footage and explained how you weren’t really high-five’ing him, but more like shaking his hand.  (Not that there’s anything wrong with  high-five’ing; heck I’d thought this whole time you were high-five’ing him).  So, what’s it is it called that you do when right before you shake that guy’s hand, a lady throws up in the air something for you to catch with your mouth?  (peanuts, nuts, cashews, mints, or what is it anyway that she is throwing up in the air for you to catch?)

It’s so good to see Wanda Sykes on your show today.  (I love seeing comedians together having conversation.)

So, how was your day?  I worked osme, worked out some, watched t.v. some.  It’s supposed to rain most of tomorrow here in Texas.  I’m looking forward to CA weather (except earthquakes, which believe it or not, I’ve already been in one here in Texas & was even on the news with my dog, Prescott all about that experience); anyway, when I visit Los Angeles for a few days in May, I’m going to pack various clothes so I can wear layers each day; I’ve been to California once before; it was San Francisco during summer 1996.  I recall how the day began really cold and then warmed up by afternoon and got really cold again by evening.  I am beginning to wonder now if I should mail my clothes to my hotel before my trip?  If not, I think I might need two suitcases full of clothes to wear layers!

So, what are you doing this weekend, Ellen?  There are so many choices, including Earth Day activities, such as going to see Chimpanzee (which I definitely will be doing during Opening Week; I love apes and Jane Goodall is one of my heroes);  I’m working Friday, going to a reunion for all three high schools from my hometown Saturday nite, and hosting my online talk show (Coffee Talk with Chelle) Sunday nite; feel free to call in & say “Hi!”  – you can call in anytime between 6pm Pacific Time thru 8pm PT on Sunday nites (including this Sunday, April 22nd) @ (347) 215-7225 & check out my main website @ coffeetalkwithchelle.com where you can see info about myself & my talk show & upcoming book & more, but also you can hear me read any of my letters to you thus far, Ellen on there!  Just make sure to go to the main page & then look on far right-hand side of page where you see links listed & find “Letters to Ellen from Chelle series.”  Oh, by the way, I’m supposed to be going to my 20th high school reunion sometime this year; however, I’m not sure if that event will even be happening now since they are hosting this reunion Saturday nite for ALL class graduates for ALL high schools from my hometown.    So, we’ll see.

My hubby(SuperDave) is playing a video game; my doggy (Prescott) is sleeping on our bed.  And I’m about to say GoodNight & Sweet Dreams, but before I do I want to ask if I may please meet you May 17th when my husband & I have requested two tickets for the taping of your show when visiting L.A.  ***I’ve been thinking so positively that as soon as we even put in the requests for the two tickets to your show we booked hotel, flight, etc that SAME DAY in hopes that we will make it into your audience that day!  I believe ANYTHING is POSSIBLE!

At same time, I want to also let you know if you ever need anything, you can call me anytime, too!  I have enclosed in my letter I mailed out to you my contact info while at home & while in L.A. for few days in May.

Love & Peace,

Chelle
